A brief INTRODUCTION about MYSELF and the WEBSITE !!

December 2007

Dear friends …

Please, let me first briefly introduce myself before start surfing all the pages of this site:

I'm 38 years old, I am an "aviation enthusiast" since ever. I started shoting and colleting slides of civil planes and helicopters during mid ‘80s, when I was really young. I had my studies as "Perito Tecnico in Costruzioni Aeronautiche" ( Aeronautical Institute ) and I reached my aeronautical degree (diploma) during the year 1988. During 1991 I started a really interesting job with a growing ( at that moment ) Italian charter company where I've got my first JAR-145 Maintenance License as Line Maintenance Mechanic on B767-300s.

Since the beginning of year 2000 I moved to another airline, a bigger European carrier, where I'm still employed as Ground Engineer. I had FAA exams and my A&P licence during mid 2000 and my JAR-145 License was later converted into an EASA PART-66 B1 one. Currently I hold active certifications for the following types: Boeing B767-200/300s, Boeing B747-400s, Boeing B777s and the "new generation" Airbus A330 and A340.

At the moment I'm using a Canon EOS 400D Digital Camera with Canon 28-135 & 100-400 lenses plus a Sigma "wide-angle" 10-22 for the "extreme" shots ... I'm also using an aged Nikon Coolpix 8800 and still keeping operational a couple of reliable Canon A-1 cameras with original Canon lenses (to shot Kodachrome K64 films).

Why the website ? The website was born as a bet in early 1999 to show around some of my images taken in Milan Malpensa and  Northern Italy. From these early days the website grew up quite a lot, in quality and quantity of available images. I decided to concentrate on helicopters after a few months and this bet was immediately payed back from all the friends who started surfing my website regularly.

HOW TO BETTER NAVIGATE THE WEBSITE ? Please check the dedicated page now available.

My photographic quality standards are quite high … as I hope you should appreciate looking into the various "photo folders" in this site. I really hope that this new "way" to communicate will help us to get in touch and to become friends too … I'm always happy to know new people around the world and to start new trading/swapping opportunities. My photographical interests are quite various … but civil helicopters are my "first love", close to propliners, piston engined planes, floatplanes ... and airliners, of course.

During these years I had many articles and pictures published on several magazines and on a couple of books. You could see some of my images on PROPLINER ( England ), JETSTREAM ( Switzerland ), COCKPIT ( Switzerland ), FLIGHT INTERNATIONAL ( England ), JP AIRLINE FLEETS photo section ( Switzerland ), BUCHAirHelicopters ( England ), the first numbers of HELICO REVUE ( Switzerland ), old numbers of AVIATION DATA NEWS ( England ), WINGLETS ( Italy ), COLOR BIRDS book ( Switzerland ), AIR PRESS ( Italy ), Just Plane Videos cover pages ( Justplanes tapes ), TUTTOAEREI ( Italy ), HELIOPS ( former PACIFIC ROTORS) ( New Zealand ), AIRWAY (Taiwan Edition), AIR VALLEE website, ETI 2000 website, Airstar Aviation website, Rigby Hall Helicopters website, N&A Mensile del Soccorso and so on.

Closing this brief introductory page I want to give all of you my personal best wishes …
