Falcon Aviation and Leonardo partner for new helicopter offshore and onshore contract for Kuwait Oil Company.
Falcon Aviation, one of the UAE’s leading aviation companies specializing in business aviation services, charter and aircraft management, confirmed on Jan. 17 at the Kuwait Aviation Show that three new Leonardo AW169 helicopters (signed for at the recent Dubai Airshow) will be deployed on a five-year contract with The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The helicopters will perform onshore and offshore oil-and-gas operations. This debut in Kuwait marks a significant expansion for Falcon Aviation, which will be adding additional personnel in Kuwait, including offshore pilots and supportive administration personnel, plus line and base engineers to start the contract. The first two AW169s will arrive in March and April 2018.

MRO expansion into Kuwait
Falcon Aviation will establish all the required infrastructure, including the building of a brand new hangar to house the three Leonardo AW169s and create facilities to carry out line and base maintenance on the type.
“The KOC contract specified two helicopters, but Falcon Aviation added a third helicopter as backup to provide continuous services,” noted Nicolas Tejera, director of maintenance, who is expanding Falcon Aviation’s rotary MRO team by recruiting helicopter engineers for the project. “It is an honor to win this contract and we are excited to be entering into this new project in the new territory of Kuwait with Leonardo. We know and understand the aircraft well and have enjoyed excellent customer satisfaction with the AW169 since introducing the type with TOTAL in ABK Field, UAE in January 2016.”

MILESTONE AVIATION AND LEONARDO TO PROVIDE THREE AW169S TO FALCON AVIATION.
Milestone Aviation Group (“Milestone”), a GE Capital Aviation Services company and the global leader in helicopter leasing, and Leonardoannounced today that Falcon Aviation of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) will expand its AgustaWestland AW169 helicopter fleet with the addition of a further three aircraft.
The light-intermediate twin helicopters will have multi-mission capability with entry into service in first quarter of 2018. The aircraft will be acquired through operating lease, and represent the first helicopter lease transaction for Falcon.

With the addition of three AW169, Falcon Aviation’s fleet will include five AW169, two AW189 helicopters and four additional Grand and GrandNew light-twin helicopters. The AW169 and AW189 models, used by Falcon Aviation, are part of Leonardo’s family of new generation helicopters that also includes the AW139. These helicopters all possess the same high-performance flight characteristics and safety features whilst sharing the same common cockpit concept and design philosophy. This approach facilitates synergies for operators of fleets across the 4 to 9 tonne weight categories in areas such as training, flight operations, maintenance and support.The combination of AW169 and AW189 offshore gives Falcon Aviation and its customer’s unmatched benefits in terms of efficiency, capability and safety.
Falcon Aviation have also recently set a major operational milestone with their first AW169 which has become the global fleet leader in terms of flight hours, out of a total of 40 helicopters of this model in service with customers worldwide to date.
World’s first oil & gas AW169 unveiled in Abu Dhabi.

World’s first offshore-configured new generation Leonardo AW169 helicopter was presented to the Oil & Gas community at an official ceremony held at the Marina Mall Helipad in Abu Dhabi today.
Falcon Aviation is the first operator in UAE to use the new type and the first customer worldwide to operate the aircraft for offshore oil and gas transportation. This AW169 will now be used to support oil & gas operations in Abu Dhabi for TOTAL ABK. Falcon Aviation has placed orders for two AW169s, the second being in a VVIP transport configuration.

The introduction of the all new AW169 into their fleet expands the range of Leonardo helicopters operated by Falcon Aviation which already include four light twin helicopters, comprising the Grand and GrandNew models, and two all new AW189 8.6 tonne helicopters deployed for longer range, higher capacity duties.

Abu Dhabi-based Falcon Aviation Services are about to receive the two AgustaWestland AW189s they have had on order since at least October 2014 when it was announced by the manufacturer. The pair of helicopters – registered A6-FHB and A6-FHC – are currently en route from the factory in Italy to their new base in the United Arab Emirates, a flight of four to five days which started on Friday 29th May. Both are in offshore configuration.
The UAE operator has prevoiusly operated different AW109 variants and also has AW169 helicopters on order.
