Proven in service: NHV’s H175 fleet reaches 10,000 flight hours.
Marignane, 28 February 2017- NHV Group and Airbus Helicopters are pleased to announce that NHV’s H175 fleet has logged its first 10,000 flight hours.
This significant milestone proves this super-medium-sized rotorcraft’s capabilities and reliability in highly demanding operations, especially the transportation of personnel and supplies to offshore oil and gas platforms. The 10,000 hours have been accumulated by NHV’s fleet of eight H175s. The first two aircraft were introduced to the fleet in December 2014 with NHV being the launch operator.
The rotorcraft have since completed more than 4750 flights; with certain missions conducted in challenging North Sea weather conditions, and non-stop flights performed to distances of 180 NM with passengers and cargo. “Being the launching customer and fleet leader for this aircraft, we are successfully positioning the H175 as the new standard for oil and gas missions. I am proud that, today, NHV is the only operator with a vast experience in flying this aircraft. We explicitly thank our valued customers and staff for being our partners in reaching this milestone,” says Eric Van Hal, the CEO of NHV Group.
The H175’s high level of reliability enables NHV to meet tight flight scheduling in the North Sea, thereby underscoring the aircraft’s high level of maturity from service entry, as well as the suitability of associated services provided by Airbus Helicopters. “I want to congratulate NHV for reaching this very important milestone with their H175 fleet,” said Guillaume Faury, Airbus Helicopters CEO. “With NHV, the H175 has demonstrated its costeffectiveness, comfort and reliability, setting new standards for offshore operations. I commend NHV for their professionalism in accomplishing this key milestone. They can count on unfaltering support from Airbus Helicopters so they can continue to perform successful missions.” “The H175 is a remarkable program and NHV is to be applauded for so quickly reaching the 10,000-hour mark and maximizing the helicopter’s potential,” said John Saabas, President, Pratt & Whitney Canada, maker of the PT6C-67E engines that power the H175. “This is the first engine in the PT6 family to be equipped with a dual-channel FADEC, an advanced control system that simplifies engine operation, reduces pilot workload, and provides greater power response, performance, aircraft availability and a quiet cabin.” NHV’s H175s have accumulated experience in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ghana, and Denmark. “We are very satisfied with the H175s”, adds Eric Van Hal. “Our pilots appreciate their excellent handling characteristics, plus the speed and range; while passengers are impressed with the cabin comfort, smooth ride and low noise levels.” NHV will gradually increase its fleet of these new-generation helicopters in the upcoming years.
HELI-EXPO 2016 – PRESS RELEASE
H175 fleet demonstrates its reliability and exceeds 3,000 flight hours in operation with NHV.
· Now in operation with NHV Group in Den Helder and Aberdeen, with more than 3.000 flight hours since December 2014
· First VIP aircraft to be delivered this year; Public Services version on track for 2017 delivery
· Virtual reality experience available at HAI
Louisville, Kentucky, 1 March 2015 – After little more than one year of operations, NHV have reached 3,000 flight hours with their H175 fleet, demonstrating the aircraft’s mission capability and reliability in oil and gas offshore transportation. Early February, the first H175 that entered service in December 2014, reached the 1,000 flight-hour milestone.
“This milestone was easily achieved thanks to the exceptional availability of the aircraft, which is close to 95%” said Eric Van Hal, CEO of NHV Group. “The H175 has proven to be a highly reliable aircraft. I am happy to say that the helicopter really keeps its promises, allowing us to meet the needs of our customers”.
NHV was the launch customer for the new super medium helicopter and has since taken delivery of six aircraft out of 16 on order. The H175 is currently in operation at two of NHV’s bases in the demanding North Sea environment: Den Helder in the Netherlands and Aberdeen in northern Scotland. So far, the NHV fleet of H175s has completed 1,500 flights and carried approximately 22,000 passengers.
“Since its entry into service, the H175 has been proving its value and high availability every day with our launch customer NHV, which generated a lot of attention for this helicopter” said Guillaume Faury, President and CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “Thanks to its endurance, flexibility, high level of safety, excellent payload and cost-effectiveness, we are shaping the future of the market with the H175”.
Despite the challenging market environment, 2015 proved to be a successful year for the H175 which registered 36 orders and was endorsed by key oil and gas players such as Milestone and Bristow. During the last 12 months, the capabilities of the aircraft have also been expanded through a flight envelope extension in hot and high conditions. The Public Services version was also launched last year thanks to a 7-unit order from Hong Kong operator GFS, with deliveries planned in 2017.
In 2016, the H175 will be deployed in the Gulf of Mexico for Oil and Gas operations by the Mexican customer Pegaso. This year will also see the entry into service of the VIP variant introducing new mission capabilities, as well as the certification of SAR modes. The maximum take-off weight (MTOW) extension will be increased to 7800 kg, offering customers a 300 kg payload gain or an increased radius of action of 40 nautical miles.

New group branding for NHV
NHV, a fast growing international helicopter operator, continues the integration of its subsidiaries. As of today, the offshore branches of the NHV Group operate under their new brand. NHV, Blueway Offshore Norge and DanCopter have been integrated into one refurbished NHV brand. Airlift and Vertech, also part of the NHV Group, will continue to operate under their current brand.
The rebranding process started shortly after the acquisition of the Blueway Group last year. As a result NHV doubled in size and has become a considerable player in the global helicopter services industry. The new brand reflects the unification of the two groups.
The new NHV brand is founded on its original core values of: Safety, Transparency, Ownership, People and Partnership. Unified under its new brand the NHV Group aims to be the European global helicopter operator of choice and set standards for the industry in terms of safety, flexibility and performance.
The rebranding also includes a change in the visual identity. A key element in this makeover is the new logo. The logo redesign reflects the groups’ evolution from a small-scale helicopter operator providing maritime services for the local harbor to an international group providing a wide range of helicopter services to our partners.
