After several years, the fuselage of the Alouette III s/n 1390, that was flying in Italy as I-AIRU, appeared in the Netherlands.
The airframe and several parts were acquired from the Alouette Museum Barneveld with the aim of restore the helicopter to his original A-390 [Netherland Air Force] status.
The helicopter was bought with an Astazou engine installed, the same engine originally installed on the SA319B serie (as visible on above image).
The tail boom from another Aouette III was installed (former YR-ELC) … and restoration works will continue.
