LUFTTRANSPORT NEWS RELEASE
Lufttransport RW AS has been awarded a contract worth NOK seven billion from Equinor for helicopter services on the Norwegian continental shelf.
“Lufttransport RW AS is proud to announce that we have been awarded a significant contract for transport services on the Norwegian continental shelf from Equinor,” says Erlend H. Olsen, CEO of Lufttransport RW AS.
Lufttransport RW AS will operate a total of five Leonardo AW189 helicopters out of Sola and Florø. The contract has a duration of around seven years with additional options of six years in total, which amounts to a total of around NOK seven billion.
“The award is the result of many years of hard work and strategic investment to position us as a leading provider of offshore helicopter services,” says Olsen.
The agreement covers the transport of personnel from Sola and Florø, and marks a historic turning point for the company. The contract also represents a milestone for the Norwegian continental shelf, as Lufttransport RW AS will fly with the helicopter type Leonardo AW189, which is new to the offshore business in Norway, but proven in offshore operations globally.
The AW189, known for its advanced technology, good capacity and outstanding safety standards, will play a central role in Lufttransport’s operations going forward. Together with the company’s fleet of Leonardo AW139 helicopters, this will strengthen Lufttransport’s ability to deliver tailor-made solutions to our customers.
We look forward to delivering the highest quality transport services to Equinor, and to being an important contributor to safe and efficient operations on the Norwegian continental shelf. Safety is the most important thing for us and our customer Equinor, and we have planned a gradual escalation, first with two helicopters in 2025, then we will put three more helicopters into operation in 2026,” says Olsen.
